The Going Explained

The ‘going’ is the term used to describe the state of the ground on the course. This can range from Firm (very dry) ground, through to Good, Yielding, Soft or Heavy (very wet) ground. Individual horses often show a preference for a particular type of going and this may be mentioned in their form analysis in your racecard. Therefore, it is worth keeping an eye the current going conditions when considering your bets. From entry stage up to the day of your race we will supply going reports on our website and social media channels. Going will be updated around 9am each day within the week leading up to a fixture. If you would like any further information regarding the ground conditions or weather, please contact our Racing Operations Manager, Jane Hedley on +353 86 1078329.
