With over €1.8 million in prize money up for grabs and fifteen
races including eight Grade 1s, Dublin Racing Festival is two days of top class
racing that you do not want to miss.
The opening day of Dublin Racing Festival features four
exciting Grade 1 Races. The feature of which is the Chanelle Pharma
Irish Champion Hurdle (Grade 1) won last year by the exceptional mare Honeysuckle
for Henry De Bromhead and jockey Rachael Blackmore. This race has a rich
history in producing top class hurdlers. It has been won by superstars such as
Apples Jade, Brave Inca, Istabraq, Hardy Eustace and Hurricane Fly.
The Ladbrokes Steeplechase (Grade 1) has produced top
class chasers over the years. The race was won last year by Chacun Pour Soi for Willie Mullins and jockey Paul Townend. The Nathaniel Lacy &

Cheltenham Bonus for Stable Staff’ Novice Hurdle (Grade 1) was a thrilling race last year won by Latest
Exhibition for Paul Nolan and jockey Bryan Cooper, and the Arkle Novice
Steeplechase (Grade 1) won by Notebook for Henry De Bromhead and
jockey Rachael Blackmore. The Irish Arkle has produced top class novices in the
past including Le Richebourg, Footpad, Douvan and Un De Sceaux.
Dublin Racing Festival draws to a close on Sunday 7th
February with the Paddy Power Irish Gold Cup (Grade 1) won last
year by Delta Work for trainer Gordon Elliott and Jack Kennedy. The
Paddy Power Irish Gold Cup feature race has a past winners list of the greats,
including Jodami, Imperial Call, Florida Pearl, Beef or Salmon, Neptune
Collonges and Sir Des Champs.
The Sunday 7th February also features the Tattersalls
Ireland Spring Juvenile Hurdle (Grade 1) won last year by A Wave Of The Sea
for Joseph O’Brien and Jockey Barry Geraghty. The Chanelle Pharma Novice
Hurdle (Grade 1) won last year by Asterion Forlonge for trainer Willie
Mullins and jockey Danny Mullins. The Flogas Novice Steeplechase (Grade
1) produced a memorable finish last year as the exceptional thirteen year old, Faugheen won the race for Willie Mullins and Paul Townend.
