We are delighted to welcome the Bahrain Turf Club on board to support the Desmond Stakes on our International Race Day. The Bahrain Turf Club plays host to the Bahrain Turf Season and Bahrain International trophy one of the most watched races in the world. The Bahrain International trophy has a total race fund of €582,785 over 2000 meters on one of the finest grass tracks in the Middle East.
Established in 1991, Irish Thoroughbred Marketing (ITM) is a not-for-profit organisation, promoting Ireland as the leading source for the production and sale of quality thoroughbreds worldwide, and as a premier country in which to own, breed and buy thoroughbreds. Through ITM, we are delighted to be welcoming the Jockey Club of Turkey and the Jockey Club of Greece. The Turkish Jockey Club was founded in 1950 and is now the body of 10 Racecourses hosting races from the Gazi Derby to the Turkish Grand National.
The Irish European Breeders’ Fund has supported horseracing in Ireland since 1983 by enhancing prize money with funds voluntarily contributed by Irish Stallion Farms. The Fund has contributed over €52 million to the sport since 1983 and has a current investment level of around €2.6 million supporting both Flat and National Hunt racing making the Irish EBF the largest sponsor of horseracing in Ireland.
