TRI Equestrian extend partnership with Leopardstown Racecourse

Leopardstown Racecourse were thrilled to announce today that TRI Equestrian and their sister brand, TRM, have extended their partnership to include the race meeting at the Dublin track on 23 July.

TRI Equestrian and TRM are building on their well-established National Hunt Finale Raceday to include a day on the flat at Leopardstown, thus demonstrating their support for all areas of the racing industry. TRI Equestrian Raceday on 23 July is an afternoon meeting which will be held behind closed doors due to the Covid 19 pandemic, however, it hosts a top-quality card with the Listed TRI Equestrian Silver Stakes as the feature race.

The Silver Stakes is a competitive 1m2f race which has attracted some notable horse over the years. Jim Bolger holds the record for the highest number of victories with seven wins, the most distinguished of these was Trading Leather, ridden by Kevin Manning who similarly has claimed the jockey title for this race for his five wins. Trading Leather won the Silver Stakes in 2013 and progressed to win the Irish Derby that same year, giving Jim Bolger his second win in this prestigious Classic, the first being St Jovite in 1992.

This year’s renewal of the TRI Equestrian Silver Stakes promises to be another competitive race and has attracted 24 entries including 2018 Irish Derby winner, Latrobe, for trainer Joseph O’Brien who also has black type winners Raise You and Bolleville, the latter of which will be running for Joseph for the first time since transferring from French trainer, Pascal Bary recently. Dermot Weld enters Listed winner Rakan for the contest and this is supported by Bowerman for Ado McGuinness who attempts to improve on his runner up placing in the listed Celebration Stakes at the Curragh on Derby weekend. Aidan O’Brien has supported the race with six entries including the exciting Galileo colt, Napa Valley who is unbeaten on his two starts to date.

TRI Equestrian was set up on the Curragh in 1984 and has two retail outlets, their flagship store on the Curragh and their recently opened Northern store at Meadows Equestrian in Lurgan. TRI Equestrian ensured that their customers were serviced during the recent lockdown by maintaining their online delivery service and following government guidelines and significant work to ensure their customers safety the stores have now opened again. TRI Equestrian at the Curragh will benefit from a refurbishment which is planned soon, thus further improving customer experience. Their sister company, TRM, the globally acclaimed equine supplement manufacturer, health care and nutrition provider have a special focus in store but is sold throughout the world.
