The Derby Trial Stakes is a race known for producing many greats. The role of honor for previous winners of the Group 3 Derby Trial includes household names and subsequent top-level Group 1 performers who have made their mark on some of the biggest sporting races in the world. Sinndar, Galileo, High Chaparral and Dylan Thomas are just some of the horses who have used this race as a steppingstone to English Derby success.
The Derby Trial Stakes Day also hosts our Family Fun Day that is not to be missed. Our Family Fun Day offers lots of FREE FAMILY FUN entertainment. If you’re a lover of horseracing, our family fun day events are the perfect way to introduce children of all ages to the exciting world of racing.
As well as an 8 Race card, which features the Group 3 Derby Trial Stakes and The Group 3 Amethyst Stakes; there will also be a jam-packed schedule of entertainment and attractions for all ages, including the return of Waffles the Wonderful, Custard Pie Puppet Shows, Stilt Walkers, Face Painting, large outdoor games, farm petting zoo and the return of the incredibly popular Clayton Hotel Leopardstown Hobby Horse Cup!
