Barefoot Mile
As part of the LIVE at Leopardstown Festival of Music and Racing, Athletics Ireland will be hosting a Barefoot Mile Race which will take place on the evening of Thursday the 16th of August after the last horse race of the evening.
This event offers a unique opportunity to experience the freedom of running barefoot over the classic distance of a Mile on the racecourse that hosted the 2002 World Cross Country Championships.
The mixed race is open to runners of all standards, with every runner receiving a souvenir event t-shirt.
There is prize money on offer for the top three male and female finishers; first prize: €300, second prize: €200 and third prize €100.
Participants have the added bonus of enjoying a thrilling night of Horse Racing prior to competing followed by a great evening of entertainment provided by the Saw Doctors post-race.
The entry fee is €20 and includes entry to the Barefoot Mile, access to the horse racing and to the Saw Doctors Concert and event t-shirt.
Please note number collection will take place on the night at the registration desk and the race is open to Over 16’s only, participates will have access to a warm-up area prior to the race commencing.
