Launch of the Hennessy Best Dressed Lady 2012

Yesterday, 17th October 2011, Hennessy celebrated the launch of the Hennessy Best Dressed Lady in association with Design Centre, which takes place at the Hennessy Gold Cup on Sunday, 12th February 2012 at Leopardstown Racecourse. To mark the launch, Hennessy and Design Centre hosted a special Salon Fashion Show at The French Ambassador’s Residence in Dublin, showcasing key winter racing looks for the upcoming season with hair and make-up looks created by Dylan Bradshaw. At the launch, Hennessy unveiled the judge who will be charged with selecting the winner of the Hennessy Best Dressed Lady 2012 as International Fashion Commentator, Godfrey Deeny. Currently based in Paris, Godfrey flew in especially to attend this last night's launch event.
Originally from Northern Ireland, Godfrey Deeny is an international fashion critic and editor who has covered the runway shows of London, Milan, Paris and New York for over a decade. As Editor-in-Chief of Vogue Hommes International, Paris Bureau Chief of Women’s Wear Daily and European Editor of Fashion Wire Daily, Godfrey has met or interviewed almost every designer of note including Burberry’s Christopher Bailey, Karl Lagerfeld and Giorgio Armani. He is a frequent commentator on fashion television programmes including Tele Monte Carlo’s Moda, The BBC’s Fashion File, Toronto’s Fashion Television and a fashion authority on E Entertainment’s panel of experts. A regular contributor to Esquire, Details, The International Herald Tribune, The Sunday Independent and Le Figaro, Godfrey is also a weekly columnist for the New York-based fashion film site, www.imaginefashion.com.
Commenting on his role as the judge of the Hennessy Best Dressed Lady 2012 in association with Design Centre, Godfrey says: “It is a great honour to be selected as the judge for the 2012 Hennessy Best Dressed Lady in association with Design Centre. I travel all over the world commenting on the fashion industry and am always delighted to return to Ireland to be impressed by the fashion and style that Irish women are embracing. I’m sure the Hennessy Gold cup will attract a high calibre of entries this year and, no doubt, it will be tough to pick the overall winner, but I look forward to the challenge.”
The Hennessy Gold Cup marks one of the most stylish winter racing events in the Irish social calendar and each year the Hennessy Best Dressed Lady in association with Design Centre draws Ireland’s fashion elite to compete for one of the most prestigious style competitions. The stakes are high with this year’s winner set to receive a voucher for €7,000 to spend on the wide selection of designer clothes that Design Centre, situated in the Powerscourt Townhouse Centre, Dublin has to offer. Contestants can enter in advance by registering online at www.hennessybestdressed.ie before Friday, 27th January 2012 or by presenting themselves at the registration desk in the Hennessy Best Dressed Lady marquee on Race Day. All contestants will receive a Hennessy cocktail and meet the stylists from Design Centre. The pampering will continue with style experts from Dylan Bradshaw offering the ladies a chance to try out some glamorous new looks for winter racing.
