Hennessy Gold Cup
The Hennessy Gold Cup takes place on Sunday 8th February 2015. It is one of the most prestigious and glamorous race days in the National hunt season – the only fixture in Ireland to feature four Grade 1’s on one day including the Hennessy Gold Cup.
Last year, the 24th running of the Hennessy Gold Cup at Leopardstown was won in impressive style by the Philip Fenton trained Last Instalment under jockey Brian O’Connell. The Hennessy Gold Cup was the feature event of four Grade 1 races.
Last year Dessie Hughes won the Grade 1 Gala Retail Spring Juvenile Hurdle with Guitar Pete. He was given a confident ride from Barry Geraghty who hit the front before the home turn and stayed on strongly to beat Tiger Roll by two and a quarter lengths.
Vautour upset the hot favourite The Tullow Tank in the Deloitte Novice Hurdle as Ruby Walsh made every yard of the running on the 7-4 second favourite and his mount stayed on strongly to win by three lengths. The Mullins and Walsh duo then went on to win the Dr PJ Moriarty Novice Chase with Ballycasey beating the favourite Don Cossack by four lengths.
The day also featured the Hennessy Best Dressed Lady 2014 and French-Canadian fashion designer Tara Jarmon was on hand to judge the competition which was won by Louise Allen from Slane. She wore a red and black coat from Etsy, hat by Jennifer Wrynne, Christian Louboutin shoes and a vintage clutch bag. Louise was presented with a voucher for €7,000 to spend in Harvey Nichols Dublin, as well as a bottle of Hennessy Fine de Cognac.
Maria Osborne from Kildare was the winner of the best accessory which was selected by shoe designer Lucy Choi. She was presented with a coveted pair of Lucy Choi shoes and a designer handbag from Harvey Nichols Dublin, as well as a bottle of Hennessy Fine de Cognac.
We have a number of different hospitality options which will be confirmed closer to the date including the Restaurant, Pavilion and Private Suites.
