Style and glamour were the order of the day as the Tattersalls Millions Irish Champion Stakes lived up to its reputation as the social event of the season. Fashion Ambassador for Horse Racing Ireland Kathryn Thomas was handed the binoculars to go fashion spotting on the turf and had the difficult job trying to pick the Best Dressed Lady. The lucky winner turned out to be model Caoilinn Taylor from Rathfarnham, Dublin who won the fabulous prize of €5,000 to spend at House of Fraser at The Dundrum Town Centre.
Caoilinn was wearing a beautiful 1920’s style feathered head-piece from Mad Hatters and a long beaded top over a gold dress that she bought in Thailand. Caoilinn, who is signed to the Compton Model Agency in Dublin, was delighted with her prize which also included a Linea outfit from House of Fraser. On her phenomenal win, she said “I’m thrilled to win Best Dressed Lady; the first thing I’m going to do is bring my family up to House of Fraser and pick something out. I will then start planning my winter wardrobe as I have just come back from a world wind trip around the globe”
Runners up on the day included fashion student Bella Doyle who is just back from India and plans to study fashion in London. She wore a vintage black hat and black and white Alice McCall dress from Billion Dollar Babes teamed with a red bag and red shoes. Sinead Donnelly was also one a runner up prize and wore a stunning black and white headpiece from a shop called Siggy in London. This is second time lucky for the 33 year old from Navan who also scooped The Best Dressed Lady prize at The Galway Races this year. Fifteen lucky ladies were hand-picked from the crowd and given a bottle of Jacobs Creek Sparkling Rosé and a goody bag from House of Fraser.
Kathryn Thomas looked stunning in a black & cream head-piece from the uber-chic Design Centre at Powerscourt Townhouse. On picking a winner Kathryn said “I was really looking for some individuality on the day. It was incredibly hard as most of the ladies looked absolutely stunning! However, when I saw Caoilinn I really thought she stood out and showed some real individual style on the day; she really did the 1920’s flapper look fantastically well and her bright smile stood out among the crowd.”
