Irelands Premier Racecourse

Leopardstown Racecourse was completed in 1888 and was built by Captain George Quin, having been modelled on Sandown Racecourse in England.

Situated in the heart of the surburban belt, Leopardstown has always been a prime development area. In order to secure the future of the racetrack, the owners of Leopardstown, led by Mr. Fred Clarke, accepted an offer for the course from The Racing Board in 1967.
 Leopardstown History

Since its purchase, Leopardstown has been continuously upgraded and developed to become one of the premier racecourses in Europe, in terms of both the quality of racing and its facilities.

The roll of both equine and human legends which have thrilled Leopardstown racegoers over the years is infinite. The Leopardstown Hall of Fame honours many of those who have rightly earned their place in the history of Irish racing including Dr. M.V. O'Brien, Tom Dreaper, Pat Taaffe and Pat Eddery, Arkle, Dawn Run, Levmoss and Nijinsky.

With such modern day stars as Florida Pearl, Istabraq, Giant's Causeway and Sinndar continuing to capture the Irish racing public's imagination, the greatest transformation at Leopardstown over the years has been in the facilities provided for today's racegoer.
xmas 3 Leopardstown offers 24 Private Suites, Hospitality Rooms, the Leopardstown Pavilion, Fillies Café Bar, the Silken Glider Restaurant, the Paddock Food Hall, Club 92, Madigans and numerous bars and snack areas.

Leopardstown Racecourse can indeed proudly claim to be one of Europe's premier racetracks.
